My quest to find these old school Italian darkride props continues. www.carnivalwarehouse.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19717In the thread shown above I'm told they were made by Pinfari however my emails bounce from the address on the Pinfari site I found. Maybe someone here knows about those props and where to find them?

Fred Mahana custom made those props for the Haunted House on Morey's Pier in the mid 1970's. After the Great Adventure Haunted Castle fire the Morey's decided to close down the Haunted House due to the fact that it was constructed in almost the same manner as the one in Great Adventure. Those props were salvaged and reused in many Morey rides after that. Most of the props wound up in the Dantes inferno. Here is a link. www.laffinthedark.com/articles/wildwood/wwd4.htm When they re modeled Dante's both Ralph Grassi and Anthony Canzano were lucky enough to aquire these and many more props. They really dont talk much about what they have but they possess alot of awesome props. Some are even on display at the Boyer Museum. These props can also be found in the Seaside Heights dark ride Stillwalk Manor. You can see those pics here. darkinthepark.com/Seaside/seaside1.htmdarkinthepark.com/Seaside/seaside6.htmFred Mahana had built the Doorway to Hell or Gates of Hell which was a popular walk through haunted house on the Seaside boardwalk. That attraction was dismantled soon after the Great Adventure fire as well. Mahana and his brother George who owned the Haunted House Company out of Toms River, NJ. built many of the classic walkthroughs that are sadly history now. Ralph Grassi's site has an excellent write up on the Morey Pier house. Here is the link www.funchase.com/Images/Freddie%20Mahana/Fred%20MahanaPg2.htm#HOUSEI too remember the razor blade hallway and the bathroom filled with blood. I was lucky enough to have gone through all of the classic haunted house rides before they closed down. Its a shame they will never be rides like these ever built again. Hope this all helps.

Bodysurfer, how scary was the Morey haunted house? It was creepy enough from the outside. What happened after you went through the front door? Was there a lobby or some sort of room where someone would give a spiel, or did you just go in and on your own? And were there stairs going up and down? What was the setup, was it rooms or hallways going from room to room? What kind of scenes were in the rooms? What was the razor blade hallway? Did you actually go through the bathroom or just by it? Were there any chainsaw guys? Where was the exit? Along the side or in the back? What other haunted houses and dark rides did you ride? Did you ride Dr. Blood's and Whacky Shack Hunt's? What about Castle Frankenstein Fun Pier? Hitchcock Manor? Brigantine Castle?

Morey's Haunted House was friggin scary dude. The wood was cursed and so was the door. Years past with no fires, then it it did catch on fire, yeah and it burned and burned until the fire department put it out and then it smoked for awhile as the sun set over the Atlantic. A sad day for wildwood darkrides, one of many sad days. But it is in gratitude to all their good days that I continue to enjoy the memories of them and explore websites of former darkride sites.
First of all one's perspective on the past should never become to glorified because then it will eclipse the oppurtunities of the present and future. I'm surpised their is not as much focus on conceiving new idea's that will be even better then the dark rides of past. I for one propose an invention that will revolutionize entertainment and amusement as we know it. It all began like this... One day I was traveling the mountains of Columbia when I came across a woods liver.
[medication begins to wear off]
"Yes I know you woods keeper" I said and kept walking till the path. Lightning struck the tree and it fell on top of a smaller tree. The smaller tree screamed in agony as big tree knocked it to the ground. The Leprechaun was quick, as soon as it's little tree house was destroyed it quickly lept away and quickly found a new tree dwelliing. Just in time too, because the sun finnaly set and darkness brought about the likes of Kamala Beasts who proceeded to multiply instantly, getting smaller each time they split, finnaly their were a billion little humpty dumpty eggs sing dancing and prancing around the rain forest as half bucket boot billies came to the leopard festival with their preachings, we set sail Africa but lost interest halfway there and decided to party in the bahamas.
[sanity recoves]
And it was in the Bahamas that I discovered the new amusement park invention. Imagine a place where there is constantly flames, screaming and mayhem, heavy metal blaring out of every speaker, the smell brimstone on a flowing river of lava, demons everywhere. Well imagine no longer! Because for a limited time only the Underworld Adventure is open to the public for a small fee [soul] and free coffee!

One day when I have more free time like Mclunatic I will tell you about all of the dark rides of New Jersey. Some were wastes of time like the Great Adventure Haunted Castle and some were like Brigantine and Long Branch, 2 of the best.
