Does anyone know what the deal is with the Mrboardwalk forums is?
I've tried to get in contact with Anthony in several different ways over the years but I haven't been successfull. I would very much like to converse with him as he has many pictures and plans of the Wackyshack, Golden Nugget and several other classic WW darkrides. I too would like to build models of these only I would make (or have them made) in HO scale and they would be a bit more true to life.
I've tried to subscribe to his board several times but I never get an activation email. I also had the man who works at the Wildwood museum give him my contact information but I still never heard from him. Lastly I tried to get in touch with him via the Moreys and Mariners Landing offices but that proved to be a dead end.
Any hints? I saw some people here talking badly about Anthony so perhaps he gives lots of folks the cold shoulder, I wouldn't know.
I would eventually like to have an entire model of Hunt's Pier. I already have the Tip Top and Flying Bobs so thats a good start. Anthony seems to be one of the most knowledgeable on the subject. However if I can't get in contact with him then this particular route to gain knowledge is pointless.

You may also want to try kissing his ass...that seems to work well for the lackeys that post on his message board.

Good advice, Crippled. I really missed that "sense of humor" of yours.

Never mind the point of this post, I'm finally added as a member of mrboardwalk. Nice board he has there, no complaints.

1992, I have a "virtual" Hunt's Pier on my computer, in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. I didn't finish the pirate ship except the bottom walls, but the Nugget is complete as well as the Whacky Shack, Keystone Kops, Flyer, Iron Horse Ghost Town RR, Mini Cars, Log Flume and most of the flat rides. William "Bud" Hunt's granddaughter Kristen sent me a scan of a Whacky Shack floorplan with the track layout and locations of the stunts. I managed to recreate the Shack as close as possible in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 using actual photos of some of the stunts on in game billboards where you can put your own pic on. I took a virtual ride on the rides. The dark rides are scarier at night. I put blacklight custom scenery in the Shack and it made it spooky inside at night. Did you know that former pier manager Vince Kostek 1957-1985 passed away this past June? He helped build the Flyer and many of the pier's rides. Wilbert Morey passed away in 1998, too. So did Gilbert Ramagosa former owner of Sportland Pier around 1995. Bud Hunt passed away 1991. He sold the pier following 1985. I wish the Nickels would have gotten Hunt's Pier, they could have done something great with it like build a new dark ride or haunted attraction. The Morey's are bullsh**ing around and horsing around while the Nugget deteriorates. Anthony did some great models of the Nugget, Whacky Shack, and Castle Dracula. They are at the museum. I'm PO'ed over all the senseless destruction of the towns of WW for the sake of new development and money. Condos suck. Watch this video, 1992, it will give you a look at a virtual dark ride in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. www.gamespot.com/users/zachinator/video_player?id=KyExwmes5bgNujTY

I don't think I know the man who passed away though. I remeber only one employee on Hunt's Pier who my family affectionetly called "Mr. Tip Top" for obvious reasons however he also worked the Wackyshack and the Golden Nugget. I once got a lights on tour of the Shack thanks to him, unfortunatly I didn't have my camera with me so it wasn't that usefull. He also was a Vet, not sure which war. He was at least 70 years old when I saw him. I wish I remembered his name, he was a great man. Anyway about your file. First off its not a WW ride, I was hoping to see one of your hunts pier creations. Was this file something you made youself or something you found? I'll review what you showed me but please don't take my comments the wrong way and abandon all hope for your hobby, thats not my intent. I'm not even sure if this is your own track layout though.... First off the music was very out of place and unrealistic. Cheesy halloween music followed by TRANCE?! That was pretty bad. Also darkride vehicles most often do not have headlights. Another thing was the ride was way too fast even at its slowest speeds, no darkride is going to move at sudden breakneck speeds like that lame GM sponsered Disney attraction. Also most of the scenes weren't viewable because the camera doesn't move like a persons head would while riding a darkride. So theres my 2 cents on that clip for you. I would still love to see videos of your hunt's pier / dracula files. Even if you think they suck I'd still get a kick out of them.

Alas, due to overcrowding the Mental Hospital has freed me from it's clutches. And so begins the dawning of Aquarius. And Mice.

1992, that video was just an example of a dark ride I found on a site. There's a lot of detail to it with a lot of custom scenery such as the dark ride packs from the RCT3 Atari site. All of the track rides have headlights that go on at night or in the dark, that can't be helped. You can swivel your head during camera mode, where you ride in the seat of the ride. The ride in the video went too fast because it's a mouse coaster, and they used drops and probably brakes as speed boosters. There are dark ride type track rides in the game with a center rail and you can slow it down on flat straight sections with brakes as slow as 2 mph. If you would care to share your email, I could send you screenshots of my WW/Hunt's Pier/Castle Dracula in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. I also made a Dante's ride like on Morey's Pier. I also tried Dr. Blood's but I'm not sure if the track layout is correct. I have a park with all the piers and boardwalk but unfinished. There's a ride that's like the tram cars with a loco pulling coaches on tires on a concrete track. I'm using that for the bwalk tram cars.
