Castle Dracula
Oh great Boardwalk Castle Thou once stood proudly in the Heartland The great count watched and waited Perhaps knowing his fate all along Years Past... Bell bottoms gave way to VHS And there was much rejoice Then flames were everywhere And the hooligans ran And it all burned It burned in the great tradition of all Wildwood legends And then came trampolines And then went trampolines and now... Perhaps more trampolines (haunted ones)
Dante's Inferno
Blasting out of hell Dante prevailed Three headed dragons not far behind Abandom hope all ye who enter here For there are plastic skeletons and scary drawings Scenes of hell inspire fear and anticipation But whereith have all thy props gone? Dante's Dungeon? Bah! Humbug...
Castle Frankenstein
Damn, more haunted rides Twus before me time It appears as a relic of Amusement But...
"Well now, everything dies, baby, thats a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in atlantic city"- Bruce Springsteen
More to come...

Your point? Is this a tribute or sarcasm?

Oh, yeah, Castle Frankenstein, I remember that. It had this huge Castle Frankenstein sign on the front and a huge Frankenstein statue. I believe it was the summer of 1982 when I saw it. Anthony has a more complete article about it with rare shots of the front. I guess I was too scared to go in it, I was only 8 y/o at the time. The Lost World ride on the same pier scared me enough, and the Crazy House funhouse was really wacky with the tilted room, slide and barrel. This summer in Canada I did the House of Frankenstein twice that was a great attraction. Also there's a Castle Dracula, too that was great. Also the Haunted House but no actors unlike the others. And the falls are really powerful. I guess I'll take any dark ride today good or bad in today's world of disappearing dark rides.

First of all----Yes, what? ? And robert, have you ever gone into Ripley's Believe it or Not in Ocean City, Maryland? They have some REALLY wierd things in there; like illusions, I tunnel that looks like it's moving and you can hardly walk a straight line.

Great Dark Ride
Into doors of unknown does the little cart with visitors in it Crickity crackity goes thou noise And then terror is fairer For at last do ghouls and ghosts serve their posts And then terror grips one The room is spinning, only not really One panics, and tries to escape, and does Into a horror world one runs First off a totom poll of terror is in your way And the emergency exits a man eating dragon You run out the emergency door and you're in Hades Satan slouches against his red 82' Camaro Z28 Their is a gift shop across the lake But for now one must begin filling out forms

Uh, what must you fill out forms for? This sounds like "the -end-of-the-line dark ride; one, which I doubt I'll be on.

One must fill out forms for the same reason a dog will walk in three circles before it sleeps, and that reason be tradition. And trampolines.

The Exorcist Ride
To the best of me knowledge such a ride did exist And I am awareith that a reenactment of the exorcism scene was played Demons dance atop a young robots gaze Act after act perfects action Paints of boardwalk colors grab thou eye Screams echo and beckon The Exorcism failed For it is not demon nor devil that possesses thee But a Tasmanian Devil not much different from the cartoons
Jersey Junkyard
Oh what a Sh*t hole dark ride to leave Fun Pier with Out of all the glory to pass thru the great piers How could thou survive the likes of our times? The time has come for dark rides But not this one Although the artwork is not bad on the outside I liked Dark river more
