"I never claimed to be the best writer or anything after all I didn’t win the 1999 PSLA Outstanding Student Librarian Award or anything."
Hmmm, a little obsessed aren't we?

Probably all just "dirty digs", right? Hmmmm, pretty quiet on this board lately. Did everyone get everything out of their system?? Or are we sitting at home quietly "plotting" something?

Just got back from vacation. Spent 3 nights camping out up at the Philadelphia Folk Festival in Swencksville, PA. Good times, no dark rides though.

Ah, so everybody probably IS on vacation. Good ol' PA; born and raised there. So was it hot camping out? Hotter than Hades? Isn't Bloomsburg Fair coming up? Used to love going to that fair.

It actually was pretty hot, it was late august and the nights were cold and damp, but the next morning the sun rising would always be so hot that no one could remain asleep, it literally cooked you through the tent and sleeping bag. I was the only camper without a tent, I slept in my sleeping back inbetween a bunch of other tents, sort of like a homeless person in a city alley, only not. The festival was very nice althoug ironically I didn't manage to ever actually catch any of the performances because I had volunteered to work the traffic managemtn shift for a discount admission which was nice, although thee eight hour shift was rather tedious. One night it rained real cold and bad and I was forced to walk a mile back to my car and sleep in the back seat where I awoke early the next morning to feel the sunning cooking me to death. Oh Heavens, it appears i'm rattling and oh goodness... It's time for tea.

Holy crap! You guys are brutal!!!! I never saw this post before. Who the hell is Crippled Visions? Obvously someone who doesn't want his identity shown.
I knew this board was brutal before I even joined from watching previous posts but this one takes the cake as they say. That being said, I'm sure you guys could do worse.

Aw, come on, '92, we're not brutal! Crippled is a very "funny" guy with a "strange" sense of humor. Reading some of these posts makes my day!

Aw, come on, '92, we're not brutal! Crippled is a very "funny" guy with a "strange" sense of humor. Reading some of these posts makes my day! Not I, I prefer Roberts senseless rantings about dark rides. His paragraphs are structured, orderly and precise which is what goes over best here at the McLunatic special services center for OCD patients, his rants are loved here. In Fact I'll Have A Rant Of Me Own!! Ahem, Long gone are the days of dark rides and diving horses. The Hunts were grand and such and Castle Frankenstein (1976-1983) and etc. Sportland pier is rotting like a mummy's a hole and there are no future plans in sight. The Castle dracula site remains dormant! What ye all be be thee. The days grew shorter, the old man becomith older and thy sepent stretched beyond worlds, beyond worlds, beyond worlds, beyond worlds.

There is probably no hope for any more dark rides in Wildwood beyond what is already there. The two closed dark rides Golden Nugget and Dr. Blood's probably have zero chance of reopening. Forget about a new haunt where Castle Dracula was. They'll probably use the space for lounge chairs or waterpark expansion. The Nickels might as well retire and let Splash Zone take over. Ripley's should build one of their walk-through live actor haunted attractions in WW, they have one in Myrtle Beach and Tennessee. Until then you'll have to make do with whatever crappy dark rides are left or go somewhere where they have decent dark rides like Ocean City, MD or Niagara Falls, ON Canada.

Well I love darkrides. I still have some hope for the golden G. I wasn't born when it was open back then.

So, robert, they still have the originals in Ocean City, Maryland??? I need to ask because it's quite a few years since I've been there. I think Ocean City has quite a few of original rides, am I right? Always liked it there. Well, plokoon, if you weren't born when the Golden Nugget was in it's prime, then you must be from the really younger generation.
