six flags progress on the dark knight ride goes well. it will have a pre show. then the ride itself. supposedly you will be trying to avoid the clutches of the joker as you wander the Que line, then the ride will have you going through Gotham city. good pictures of it at screamscape.com. it may be themed to a batman movie, but a dark rides a dark ride right?

Why won't anyone do a Dracula or Movie Monsters themed dark ride anymore? Well, there is a attraction like that at Universal Studios Hollywood www.universalstudioshollywood.com/attr_hoh.html It was actually formerly Van Helsing Fortress Dracula. If only some company would build an attraction like that on the East Coast.

The only reason why there even making it because, they think people will ride their rides if its fro ma movie, aka Dark Knight, from the new upcoming batman sequal. And any darkride in SixFlags has a huge incredible facade, but thats how they even get you to ride it, after going inside the ride, its a dark room with nothing.

good point plokoon, which is prob why people put up temp haunts for the holiday. real houses wont survive anymore year round. i agree the only way to bring people in is to base it on a upcoming movie. (like the one your talking about Robert) the haunted castle at great adventure was just a huge facade to block the trailers that made up the real haunt.(prolly the only thing that was scary about it!) but i think a ride based on a movie is a cool thing too. not too many places do that, and if they do it is only up for a short period of time till people get bored with it.(aka universal) we are a long ways away from seeing a good haunted attraction coming back, but at least with the dark night ride, and the one Robert mentioned,(and GULP! the ones in Niagara falls) they aren't totally dead yet

No when people get tired of a darkride, they retheme it. Universal, and Disney do that. Even at the fair they have the same old darkrides, but each year they try to change the paintings on the facade, to trick people, even through its the same ride with a different name.

Heres some good news for you robert, i know i always broke your stones about niagra falls and thier haunted houses, but screamscape.com posted this today about passports into canada................................. (quote) Oh… and in case you were wondering the Passport requirements for US Citizens visiting Canada by land have been delayed so that US Citizens visiting by land or water do not need a passport now until June 1st, 2009. (I believe the same delay also applies to Cruise passengers as well in Canada and the Caribbean). (end qoute) so if anyone has a chance to get to see these haunts before june, may i reccomend going soon! maybe your only shot of getting to see a few great houses in operation. (no im not breaking balls robert, im being 100% serious!)

They're expensive, so I only went in each once, and skipped some other attractions like museums, the fun house, etc. except Frankenstein which I went through twice and they reduced the price to $6 until a certain time that day. This was at Niagara Falls, ON, Canada in July, 2006. I went through 7 attractions total, House of Frankenstein, Castle Dracula, Haunted House, Ghost Blasters, Nightmares, Screamers House of Horrors parts I & II. I went through Frankenstein twice during the same visit. We were able to walk right back in from the exit without being seen by the cashier the way it's set up. I got video of some of them, Frankenstein, Castle Dracula, Haunted House, and Ghost Blasters. The others were too dark and probably had rules against cameras. So I left the camera at the desk when going in at those.
