Our mom gave us tentative approval to do a haunted event at our house on Fri. 26 from 5-8 pm. It will be called Frankenstein's Haunted House and Yard. We're going to try to do it in our enclosed patio as well as a yard display of tombstones, etc. The last time we did a haunted event was 10 years ago. We did it 3 times, 1995 through our house (downstairs), and 1996 and 1997 in our patio with a black plastic garbage bag maze and battery props. We called it Haunted House of Horror then. This time we have black plastic material cut out to fit over windows and for wall partitions from ceiling beams to floor. It came in a long rolled up package, it's called Create-A-Scene Black Out. We also have castle wall material as well, but it's still in the package. We also have a few new props and wall hangings. And a Frankenstein head mask I got a few years ago. It's basically going to be neighborhood trick or treaters stopping by and perhaps any curious people driving by. A house down the street from us has an elaborate yard display of monsters, tombstones. If it rains on Friday trick or treat will be rescheduled to the rain date of Sat. 27. But we have a church event at 6pm Sat so the haunted event might be off then.

So what kinds of stunts will you have this year? Any Tracy-styled stunts? Any blacklights or strobe lights? Any live actors?

Mainly battery operated stunts, and wall decorations. Maybe 1 blacklight bulb (if it still works). I will basically be the actor with the Frankenstein head mask guiding the people through and handing out candy. That is, if I have it at all, provided it doesn't rain Friday and Trick-or-Treat isn't rescheduled to Sat. night at 6pm. I have a church dinner that night my mom committed to as a missionary is visiting over the weekend. I don't think I can get out of that. And, a couple at our church is having a dessert and greet Fri. night at 7pm so we have to compromise somehow, we're thinking of doing the haunt first until 8pm then going over to the couple's house. We can come and go at anytime. It was bad timing that our church decided to have a mission weekend over trick-or-treat weekend and that I got the itch to do a haunt again after 9 years of not doing it.

I canceled it. It's supposed to rain all weekend and we're busy at a family's home (Fri 7 pm) and church events (missionary dinner Sat. 6 pm). Also my mom's friend is kind of against this stuff. He got mad after I put vinyl tombstones around the front yard, they were coming up the driveway and jumped out of the car and started pulling them up from the stakes and throwing them on the ground. I gathered them up and took them inside. So, it is off.

The Wacky Shack was never canceled when it rained. Neither was Nickle's Midway Pier "Draculas Castle". I remember riding it in the rain, it was fun. The rain added to the atmosphere, esp in the dungeon boat ride when in the grave yard area! VERY COOL!

Starting 3 pm Friday, it started raining steady and heavy at times in our area and it's still raining. Trick or treat was canceled and rescheduled today at 6 pm and we have a church dinner. And it might still rain tonight. Dorney Park is probably rained out. There is a haunted house about 10 miles away from us at a restaurant we could go to next week, it's until the 31st.

Tis a shame, the 26th was a full moon. Would have been good madness.

and we have a church dinner. Dorney Park is probably rained out. This is the scariest thing you've ever said. Ohh and you must live on or near Allentown.
