Thanks, Crippled Visions, I might just register for that one. It really sounds interesting. Saw some great pics at a quick glance. I'll be studying it more later.

Back in the day the boardwalk in summer was the best place to find Haunted attractions. Now it seems like the local haunted attractions open for the halloween season around various area's. By these I mean haunted hayrides and such (ie: Jason's woods, Field of Screams) Which are both out in amish country, PA.

Well, there are several places that have permanent haunted attractions such as Niagara Falls, Lake George, NY Salem, MA, Gatlinburg, TN, Orlando, FL. Most of the attractions are open in the summer or year-round. Skull Kingdom in Orlando is supposed to be one of the scariest so if anyone ever gets to Disney World should check it out. It looks like a giant castle with a skull as the entrance. I heard it's the closest to Brigantine in terms of the detailed sets and live actors. Niagara Falls haunted houses are great, too. Some of them are so pitch black you have to feel the wall to find the way and all the while monsters are growling at you. What was interesting about the Falls attractions is that they had familiar themes such as Frankenstein, Castle Dracula, Haunted House, etc. It's just a coincidence that WW also had three walk throughs with those same titles. They were built different years. The WW Frankenstein was built 1978, the falls Frankenstein was built in the 60's, the WW Haunted House was built 1972, the falls Haunted House was built 1980. WW Castle Drac built 1976, falls Castle Drac built sometime in the 70's.

I've yet to visit any of those seasonal attractions. Maybe this fall. I heard there's some good one's in Philadelphia too.

They open places like the Eastern State Penetentiary for Halloween tours. REALLY neat place. You get to see Al Capone's cell. It's in Philly and you can see it on their site, Eastern Penetenciary.com.

The abandoned Haverford state mental hospital in Delaware county, pa was pretty damned haunted looking last time I explored it. Would make a great East State Penn type haunted attraction.

I go on Opacity. com because I love abandoned places. Most mental facilities are usually torn down, like Danver's. They cost too much to refurbish, because of the asbestes, etc. So standing as they are, they're very unsafe. But I agree with you, those abandoned mental institutions would make the PERFECT haunted attraction! Danver's was so gothic, they called it the witches castle. That place would have been ideal.

Another good activity for fall is Blair witchin. Best way to play Blairwitchin is too drink a few cold one's and then go out deep into the woods at night. Then just run around screaming while you film it all, pretending to be chased by Blair Witch's and the like. Tis a fun game until one trips over something in the dark or two Blair Witchers collide.

how is blairwitchin goth? Now Batmanin is goth, because you dress up like batman villians and run around the woods screaming, pretending batmans after you.
