Trippy as hell, it is probably an excerpt from the middle of the ride. A more intereseting question would be how did they make those sounds? Possibly they ordered them from somewhere.

Ooh thanks for the sound, those traditional sounds would rock on my darkride projects, including the whacky Shack.

Here is sound from the Hunt's Whacky Shack! ctacke.tripod.com/whacky.wav Listen to that. Steve, AKA 1992 what do you make of that? What were some of those sounds like a scream, some music playing, a sound going from high pitch to lower pitch, electricity type sound, and a horn sound? Right before the horn sound it sounds like the cat. Maybe you can make sense of this and was this the beginning of the ride? That can't be the full ride because after the horn it ends and it's only 30 seconds. Can you identify any of those sounds? The cat noise is the classic Bill Tracy scared cat prop. The horn is most likely the sound of the bird popping out of the clock which was directly after the lady that gets sawed in half. The dum de dum dum music you hear previous MAY be the fat lady getting branded by the devil but I'm pretty much guessing. The cat and the horn are the only things im certain of. I heard this wav before and I used it in my latest techno mix here: www.dnbforum.com/showthread.php?t=30862

What was the sound at the beginning that sounded like a scream? Didn't the lady getting sawn in half make a sound? Then why was there no other sound between the cat and the clock if the lady came before the clock? On the map that I have it shows the cat way after the clock (cuckoo) before the knitwit. Ok, what do you remember about the course of the ride, did it make those zig zag turns in the back and those diagonal parts in the middle and what about the end, long straight sections? I have some info for you. There are other Bill Tracy spook rides out there, you just have to find 'em. Ocean City, MD has the Haunted House and Pirate's Cove, Waldameer in Erie, PA has these upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a3/Shack_and_cove.JPG Yes! Another Whacky Shack! And unlike Hunt's, this one's alive and well. It's twice as big as Hunt's version was, because it's two level whereas Hunt's was one level. There's also another Pirate's Cove walkthrough there. This ride tmcgill1.photosite.com/~photos/tn/2572_1024.ts1155730581500.jpg tmcgill1.photosite.com/~photos/tn/2589_1024.ts1155730600343.jpg was almost lost since the park closed after last year, but it was auctioned off to an enthusiast who is moving it just the stunts cars and track not the building itself to Conneaut Lake Park, PA for this summer. It has many of the Whacky Shack type stunts. Hopefully they'll recreate the Tracy facade in the new location.

As I mentioned to you in email. That map is wrong or at least, thats not the layout from when I rode it. The fact that the knitwit isn't the second to last stunt tells me that if that map extremely incorrect. It could very well be that that map shows what the shack looked like from before they moved it around the pier.

I have no idea what I would do with it but boy, that would be a fantastic toy to have! I could have some nice backyard carnival ride sessions and you guys could have come over for a 4th of July BBQ! After of course you guys help me put it together, Rick Davis could man the nail gun as hes into all that Philanthropy stuff. *lol*

Do you know if these were the same cars like on the Hunt's Whacky Shack? tmcgill1.photosite.com/~photos/tn/2589_1024.ts1155730600343.jpg This is the ride from Ohio that's moving to Conneaut Lake, PA the state where it originated from at West View Park, Pittsburgh in 1963 until 1979. They claim there were only three rides Bill Tracy built in partnership with the Allan Herschell Company. Whacky Shack at Hunt's was one of them, it was an Allan Herschell portable ride called Devils Inn before. The ride from West View PA/Erieview OH was another one. It was originally called Haunted House at West View.

I really don't think so. The cars on the Hunt's Pier Wackyshack I remember were very boring looking w/o any decoration. They were very boxy looking if I remember correctly.

What is "Anthony's" site? Never mind..duh. I remember as a kid standing outside Hitchcock Manor. I distinctly remember lighting flashes outside the facade and front yard with a figure in the lower right window holding a knife, maybe Norman Bates? My parents wouldn't take me on it because they said someone was stabbed in it???

I too also remember this ride very well. It was a short lived classic I am sorry to say. The thing that sticks out the most in my mind was that it was always raining on the house. They had a thunder soundtrack and rain sound effects playing on a loop and water that was sprinkled like rain on the porch of the house that actually came from water running through the house gutters. They had holes in the gutters so it looked like it was raining all the time. A simple but very neat and effective effect. I am also glad to see alot of activity here on the board. Lets keep it going gang. It was one of the more detailed haunts I have had the pleasure to be in.
