What's the worst attraction you have been in? For me it would have to be Ascary Park in Asbury Park in 2003. It was run by the guy who played Eddie Munster. He could'nt stop bragging that he did a voiceover on the Simpsons and proclaimed"Ascary Park is Family Fun for All!!!!!!! which almost ruined it for me instantly.AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!It was also $30.00 to get in and took 4 minutes to walk through. The sets were black painted plywood walls with common tattoo-style art airbrushed on them. What little props they did have, were all those mass produced ones you see in Halloween supply catalogs. As for the actors, one guy put his heart and soul into it, but the rest just stood around. They would just lean against the walls and say"C'mon just move it" or "Hey man can I bum a smoke off ya". I could understand if they were worn out after acting for 8 hours, but we were the first ones through! Even Hell-hole was better. They had that one at the Tinton Falls Faire in 1985.It was just an empty dark trailer, but it had an awesome Hell painting on its front.Me and my buddies would rave how good it was when we left the exit"Holy S*** that was incredible how did they do that!!!!". People overhearing would then buy tickets to check it out and find ....nothing ;D At least you could have fun with that attraction.

Good topic. I guess the worst I've been on was the Jersey Junkyard, or El Macarba as it was called, on the Wild Wheels pier in Wildwood, NJ. It's a ride-through attraction that is basically in one trailer, so it takes 30 seconds to ride through it. There are practically no props inside and the outside is lame too. Originally, the outside facade featured 4 worms sticking out the front that would bob up and down. No kidding, these things looked like huge dicks. At least that aspect was humorous, but they eventually got ride of them and covered over the holes. Now they just have crappy airbrushed junkyard scenes on the front.

Lost World was on the same location of the Junkyard from the 60's to 1984 on Fun Pier. It was a pretzel dark ride like the Junkyard but much larger and it wasn't a trailer. I wonder which one was better, though? Junkyard/Macabra took 30 seconds and it was over, but Lost World was quite long, much longer than it appeared from the outside. It's a shame it burned down. Morey's tried to bring back dark rides/fun houses to Fun Pier, but the new versions are inferior to the originals. Lost World/Crazy House/Castle Frankenstein.

The small HH that smelled like B.O. on one of the piers in Wildwood. I'm not sure which pier, but the HH was basically one long hallway, and the big scare was someone behind bars in a checkered strobing room with a circular saw.
I think it was taken down in the early 90's. And it sucked BIG TIME. Junkyard was cool, it was a cheesy classic style pretzel. It was decent for what is was. When I went through there were lots of props and gags.

It was short and it was a piece of crap...but no more so than the Jersey Junkyard.

For me, you guys will laugh so hard! One time at the fair there was this darkride called "darkride" Get this, the front was painted all white, accept this "Boo!" Or "Come in and be scared!" And showed this slimy guy on it. They were playing sponge bob square pants theme song for it. There was 4 cars. I just go in, this darkride was like 1 trailer, not even. It went like this, ------- CRASH --------- I see some light peeking in, I hear these jappeeneese sounds. And after 2 halls of empty ness, I see this scull on the end. It says on it Come back soon! I swear that ripped the hell out of my money. And there funhouse was the same story. Aceppt it actually had animtronic figures.

I don't remember that haunted house on Hunt's at all. Could it be because I wasn't there when it was there? I was there 80-83, then 95-98, so I missed all that happened between 1985-1994. I think it was a two trailer haunt located behind the Golden Nugget in 1989-1990.

I remember Great Adventure had a T-shirt and coffee-mug consession stand for it's ultra lame Skull Kingdom ride. It would have been great if Jersey Junkyard had the same thing. You could get a T-shirt that says, I GOT DICKED-OVER GOING THROUGH JERSEY JUNKYARD! with an illistration of the penis-worms on it. 1992 started a hilarious thread on ZOMBIE XTREEEEM.Alot of people do'nt like that attraction.A freind of mine from the Mansion's,nostrils start flaring at the mere mention of it.

OMG LOL DUDE! That is seriously an awesome idea! Maybe Morey's removed the "penis worms" because it was advertising what was inside the ride too much.... The rides got dick inside (meaning nothing of course).

For worst Haunted Attraction I would have to nominate the following.
Amusement's of America's Hollingsworth single level darkride. Its gone through many names, one of the names was actually "Draculas Castle", It was also called "Witches Castle" and at one point it was turned into a kiddie ride with a jungle theme. It sits and rots in A of A's Florida winter quarters now. Broken tricks, melted masks (kinda hard not to melt when it reaches 100degrees inside), depressing experience.
Amusement's of America's double decker Hollingsworth. It was called "Lost Cavern" at one time. It was horrible. Melted masks, broken tricks.... depressing as hell yet I couldn't not ride it.
Amusement's of America's "Thriller" funhouse. This funhouse is marketed as a darkride yet its not spooky at all. Its just a funhouse in the dark with tubes that rub your anckles, vibrating floors, floors that move up or down when you step on them (using your own body weight to move them), and a rotating floor plate. All this while some black lights illuminate badly painted graphics. Little girls love to scream at the top of their lungs in this for no apparent reason so if you don't have ear plugs your going to have ringing ears for a while after the depressing ride.
Amusement's of America's Pretzel MFG "Lost Mine" and every traveling "Lost Mine" going today. Terrible, Terrible ride! The cars do not properly fit two people, the ride has low clearance so if your tall your going to be missing something when you come out (not sure how this ride passes safty inspections). The ride is gravity driven so its quite fast and the tricks are almost non existant. As the car goes back and forth on the track it hits triggers that will sound an alarm and a dim edison bulb. Sometimes there will be a mask there but most of the time its just a bell and an edison bulb that gets triggered. One "Lost Mine" that is traveling has a Loony Toons theme and has no "tricks" at all! This is the same type of ride that was once on Hunt's Pier. Theres also a permanent park version in PA somewhere.
Of course someone already mentioned Morey's Jersey Junkyard which is a single level Hollingsworth, thats a given for being bad.
Not all Hollingsworths are bad, its just that those who own them usually don't take care of them. Thats what I hate about carnivals is they're only interested in making money. Carnival companies in the USA are not interested in taking care of the rides and they could give a sh!t about cosmetic appearance.
With carnival darkrides, the front has to look good so you will want to go in but once your in, who cares if anything works inside they figure, afterall you've already paid.

Worst attraction of all time... The Jersey Junkyard "OOOoo! I'm sooo scared, a fake rat! What? It's over already?" WORST! But I still love the artwork on the outside, reminds me of my visions.

Salem had a few sucky ones, about a decade ago, around Halloween. The worst was Horror in the Wax Museum. They simply put strobe lights on the wax figure scenes, which were based on historical witch trials. They were mostly court room scenes with no real horror or drama. They set up garbage bag barricades in the hallways ,were actors would try to scare you. What the actors never relised was that they were highly visible with the strobe lights behind them.To jump out and suprise you was impossible. Terror on the Wharf had great sets, but it tried too hard to be educational.Instead of trying to scare, the animitronics would drone on about the history of Vampires ,ect...Worse yet,the information was all the Hollywood cliches everyone knows anyway. There was a small Dracula's Castle attached to a luggage shop, but that one was actually enjoyable. It had alot of old -school scares.Everything was homemade...WITH NO DAMN ELECTRIC CHAIR GUYS!!!!!!
