"THE HOUND CAGE To make matters worse, an actor done up as a ragged wildman would come after them crawling on the ceiling. " Well I don't know anyone else at the mansion besides me who did this? I worked it in 81 and 82... And I use to put on this big raggy poncho, with not a lot under it, not even sure If I wore shoes (wouldn't have been in character) and I'd work the hallway between the Lizzy/Lester Borden Room and the Hound Cage. People would come running out of Lizzy/Lester and run right under me -or- I'd start all the way down the hallway ABOVE them... and start to high speed Spider at them, above them, as they ran under me... I got good at criss-crossing my hand hold and jumping, pulling a 180 above them and could then chase above them... OR Drop down into a hunched over 3 foot mass... and then chase them on all fours while making some unintelligible guteral growls... GOOD TIMES!!! HOW??? I WAS 19!!! Went from a 32 inch waste to a 27 inch waste that summer... The walls were close enough to BRACE myself between them and climb up the wall... Luckily there was a SMALL strip of molding about 6 feet up, so Once I got up to that height, I would use the lip of the molding as a foot hold. Then it was just a matter of walking along the molding, using my hands braced between the walls to add support. I loved the reaction to it... Just freaked people out, they had no idea what this wacked out, rag wearing, growling, 3 foot creature was... And they didn't stay around to find out. Oh... and some rooms are being left out of the walk through... Starting with the Entrance room... Dracula... Where people got FLOODED with light so their eyes were not adjusted to the dark... And Dracula would wait in his/her Coffin...
