 Jersey Shore Dark Ride Movement
« Thread Started on Jan 15, 2007, 4:41pm »

Hey, all of you Brigantine Castle people. Wassup? Listen, we are trying to start a new dark ride movement at the Jersey Shore (presently focused on Wildwood). We have recruited many Castle Dracula fans and staff. Please check out the website at http://www.myspace.com/lordmacabre . Leave the nostalgia aside, let's get something done.

Wildwood is really pathetic now. They destroy half the motels and now destroy Dr. Blood's. They need some sort of new grand haunted attraction to make up for the loss of Castle Dracula. Is this serious? Can you really pull it off? Are you planning to build a new haunted attraction? BTW, RIP Dr. Blood's. :'(

Honestly, I don't recommend building anything like that in Wildwood. WW has had one too many mysterious fires for me. Theres something very dodgy going on in that town. I don't know if its the mafia, jewish lightening, or some religious order but the town has been notoriously unfriendly to darkrides.

Just curious, any headway being made on this organization of a New Jersey Dark Ride Movement? It is time a large walk through haunt was built.

I would have helped renovate CD for free back in 02, had it not burned down. I even told Alan that. I was so pissed at how bad the boat ride looked in 01 I was ready to live in Wildwood for the summer and make it right again.

If anyhting happens in Wildwood I hope it's the old style, not the Point and purchase from a catalog
Dot Com blueprint "Haunted Attraction".

Any new dark ride would have to have some sort of updated twist or approach because it's going to be harder to resell an only slighly refabricated version of former amusements. I believe the most crucial task will be coming up with an idea that's never been explored before. An example of this could be building a giant haunt where Castle Dracula was and include more intense props, ex: a few live tigers in cages along the walk, or highly interactive actors prowling the labyrinth's.

So what operating dark rides or haunted houses are still in operation in NJ? Anyone have an accurate up to date list?
